Lots of you were telling me at mass that you felt the earthquake early this morning. I felt it but my daughter Kodi slept right through it. Do you know what causes an earthquake? How did you feel?

An earthquake happens when 2 parts of the earth (tettonic plates) plates move apart or together.

ReplyDeleteHi rm 2 its liam and I'am in Dunedin but I was in christchurch droping dad to the airport on saturday and satyrday night there were lots of after shocks and my family and I all sleep in the same room cause out friends house had been hurt inthe big earthquake it was very scary and we had no water or power. An earthquake happens when the tetonic plates touch each other I hope it stops soon so everyone can not be so scared.

When there is an earthquake it is cuased by the tetonic plates rubbing together. It makes the earth shake the tetonic plates are under the ground.by Andrea
